On the afternoon of December 9th, Cheng Liwei, President of the China Mining Association (CMA), met with Ke Zhizhong, Director of the Economic Cooperation Center of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, and his entourage. The two sides conducted in-depth exchanges on matters related to the development and cooperation of the mining industry.
President Cheng Liwei first extended a warm welcome to Director Ke Zhizhong and his entourage. He then systematically introduced the development history and current key work of CMA. He stated that CMA focuses on two core tasks: self-regulation and safeguarding rights. It not only guides member enterprises to operate in compliance with laws and regulations but also protects the legitimate rights and interests of mining enterprises and owners of mineral resources, striving to foster a standardized, fair, and sustainable industry environment. President Cheng highlighted the brand conferences and a series of important activities organized by CMA. He pointed out that the annual China Mining Conference and Exhibition has become a crucial platform for global mining cooperation and exchanges as well as resource diplomacy; the "Prospectors' Annual Conference" is positioned to focus on geological exploration and technological innovation; and the activities commemorating the anniversary of Comrade Mao Zedong's inscription "Develop Mining Industry" and the "Mining Week" are dedicated to promoting mining culture and building industry consensus. He emphasized that national mineral resource security relies on the coordinated development of the entire mining industrial chain. CMA is committed to playing a bridging role, actively promoting internal and external industry cooperation and resource integration.
Director Ke Zhizhong expressed his gratitude for President Cheng Liwei's detailed introduction. He briefed on the basic functions of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee and the main work directions of the Economic Cooperation Center, and stated that he hopes to gain an in-depth understanding of the development trend of China's mining industry through this visit.
The two sides unanimously agreed that CMA and the Economic Cooperation Center of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee will deepen cooperation, assist mining enterprises in "going global", and contribute to safeguarding national mineral resource security and promoting the high-quality development of the mining industry.
Yang Song, Deputy Director of the Economic Cooperation Center of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, and relevant personnel; Zhao Kuitao and Suo Yaoli, Deputy Secretaries-General of CMA; and relevant personnel from the Research Department and the International Cooperation Department attended the meeting.
