On the morning of January 9th, President Cheng Liwei of the China Mining Association (CMA) met with Ferial Mostofi, Vice Chairperson of the Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture (ICCIMA), and her delegation. Both parties conducted in-depth exchanges on issues such as China-Iran mining cooperation, preparations for and participation in the 2026 (28th) China Mining Conference and Exhibition, and procurement of mining equipment.

President Cheng Liwei first extended a warm welcome to Ferial Mostofi and her delegation, and introduced the basic development status of China's mining industry as well as the functional positioning of the China Mining Association. Subsequently, he focused on promoting the 2026 (28th) China Mining Conference and Exhibition, which is scheduled to be held at the Tianjin Meijiang Convention and Exhibition Center from September 10th to 12th this year. He emphasized that the Conference will further strengthen the exhibition and sales of mining equipment, mining rights transactions, and international collaboration, building an efficient docking platform for Chinese and foreign mining enterprises. He pointed out that China boasts remarkable advantages in mining equipment manufacturing, green mining, technological innovation and other fields, and is capable of providing a variety of options for Iran's mining development. He stated that China and Iran enjoy strong complementarity in mineral resources and enormous potential for cooperation, expressing the expectation that taking this meeting as an opportunity, mining enterprises of both countries will be encouraged to deepen practical cooperation, achieve efficient connection of resources, technology and markets, and usher in a new phase of China-Iran mining cooperation.

Vice Chairperson Ferial Mostofi thanked President Cheng Liwei for his detailed introduction and elaborated on the organizational structure and key work priorities of the Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture. She noted that Iran is rich in mineral resources, particularly with abundant reserves of advantageous resources such as copper ore. Currently, Iran is actively advancing the diversified development of its mining industry and is in urgent need of introducing advanced technologies and equipment. China's mining equipment, renowned for its advanced technology, high cost-performance ratio and excellent service, has gained widespread recognition in the international market, and relevant Chinese enterprises are ideal partners for Iran's mining development. She expressed the hope of leveraging the important platform of the China Mining Conference and Exhibition to promote the implementation of cooperation in mining equipment procurement and the development of advantageous minerals, thereby facilitating complementary advantages and coordinated development between China and Iran.

Che Changbo, Secretary-General of the China Mining Association, Zhao Kuitao, Deputy Secretary-General, Hamid Adeli, Commercial Counselor of the Iranian Embassy in China, and other relevant personnel, as well as staffs from the International Cooperation Department of the China Mining Association, attended the meeting.
