On the afternoon of January 19, President Cheng Liwei of the China Mining Association met with Ms. Dai Liyuan, Business Development Director of Dow Jones China, and her delegation. The two sides held in-depth discussions and exchanges on topics such as global mining market information services and participation in the China Mining Conference and Exhibition.
President Cheng Liwei extended a warm welcome to Ms. Dai and her team. He introduced the role and position of the China Mining Association within the industry, highlighting the 2026 (28th) China Mining Conference and Exhibition, which will be held in Tianjin in September this year. He noted that the process of globalization is currently facing some obstacles, and the global mining development situation is undergoing profound changes. The crucial role of mineral resources in the global economy is becoming increasingly evident, and the industry's demand for authoritative, professional, and timely information continues to rise. Given Dow Jones' high influence in global financial information and commodity market data services, President Cheng suggested that the two parties could explore extensive cooperation in mining information exchange and industry research.
Ms. Dai Liyuan expressed her gratitude for President Cheng’s detailed introduction and then shared an overview of Dow Jones' global business operations. She emphasized that Dow Jones is closely aligned with the core development needs of major Chinese financial institutions and large enterprises. The company is focused on helping these entities address international trade risks, conduct cross-border business compliance screening, provide geopolitical and market risk information services, and support IPO due diligence efforts.
During the meeting, both sides had a thorough exchange of ideas on how Dow Jones could actively participate in the China Mining Conference and Exhibition and leverage data to help Chinese mining enterprises improve their overseas compliance operations and risk management capabilities.
Also attending the meeting were Secretary General Che Changbo, Vice Secretary General Zhao Kuitao, Chief Engineer Gan Fei, and relevant personnel from the International Cooperation Department of the China Mining Association.
