On the morning of March 31, 2025, Cheng Liwei, Party Secretary and President of the China Mining Association (CMA), led a delegation to visit China National Gold Group Co., Ltd., holding friendly talks with Zhou Zhou, Party Secretary and Chairman of China National Gold Group. The two sides exchanged views on the current mining landscape and cooperation in the 2026 (28th) China Mining Conference and Exhibition. The delegation also visited the Group’s exhibition on China’s gold development history.
President Cheng Liwei first expressed heartfelt gratitude to China National Gold Group for its long-term support for the CMA and the China Mining Conference and Exhibition. He noted that, as China’s only central state-owned gold enterprise, the Group bears a unique responsibility in safeguarding the country’s strategic mineral resources and has made important contributions to the industry. He sincerely invited the Group to continue participating in the 2026 (28th) China Mining Conference and Exhibition, to be held in Tianjin from September 10 to 12, and encouraged it to expand its exhibition presence and deepen project cooperation. He added that the Conference will build on its reputation as the “international barometer of the mining industry,” with greater emphasis on its role as a “grand marketplace for international mining projects,” focusing on mining rights transactions and the mining machinery and equipment exhibition. President Cheng Liwei reaffirmed the CMA’s commitment to supporting member enterprises’ high-quality development.
Chairman Zhou Zhou warmly welcomed the visit and briefed the delegation on the Group’s development strategy and priorities. He stated that China National Gold Group will continue to fully support the CMA’s work and actively participate in the Conference and Exhibition, and expressed hope that the CMA will continue to play an important role in shaping national mining policies, facilitating technological exchange, and promoting resource sharing across the industry. Chairman Zhou Zhou also outlined the Group’s strategic priorities for the 15th Five-Year Plan period and expressed determination to capitalize on emerging opportunities to better safeguard the country’s strategic mineral resources.
Che Changbo, Secretary-General of the CMA, Wang Zuoman, Deputy General Manager of China National Gold Group, and relevant department heads from both organizations attended the talks.
