On July 7, the Organizing Committee Meeting of the 2026 (28th) China Mining Conference and Exhibition was held in Beijing. Cheng Liwei, Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the China Mining Conference and Exhibition, Secretary of the Party Committee and President of the China Mining Association (CMA); Fan Li, Vice Chairman of the Organizing Committee and Deputy Director-General of the Department of International Cooperation of the Ministry of Natural Resources; and Gao Mingxing, Vice Chairman of the Organizing Committee and Second-Level Inspector of the Tianjin Municipal Bureau of Planning and Natural Resources, attended the meeting and delivered remarks. The meeting was presided over by Che Changbo, Vice Chairman of the Organizing Committee, Member of the CMA Party Committee and Secretary-General of CMA.

Che Changbo, Member of the CMA Party Committee and Secretary-General of CMA, briefed the meeting on the preparatory work plan for the 2026 (28th) China Mining Conference and Exhibition. Zhao Kuitao, Member of the CMA Party Committee and Deputy Secretary-General of CMA, reported on the adjustments to member units and committee members of the Organizing Committee of the China Mining Conference and Exhibition (Second Session), as well as members of its office. According to the adjustments, Feng Chengyou, Member of the Leading Party Members Group and Deputy Director of the China Geological Survey, was added as Vice Chairman of the Organizing Committee, and five institutions, including China Railway 19th Bureau Group, were added as member units of the Organizing Committee.

At the meeting, representatives from Zijin Mining Group, China Minmetals Corporation, Aluminum Corporation of China, China National Gold Group, China Uranium Industry Co., Ltd., China Railway Resources Group, China Railway 19th Bureau Group, China National Coal Association, China Geological Survey and other organizations delivered remarks in succession. They put forward opinions and suggestions on establishing a dedicated forum on mine safety, building an online platform for a "Global Mining Project Marketplace," optimizing the arrangement of forum sessions, improving venue services, and strengthening interpretation of laws and policies. Participants unanimously stated that they would give full play to the role of member units and actively support the work of the Organizing Committee.

Gao Mingxing, Second-Level Inspector of the Tianjin Municipal Bureau of Planning and Natural Resources, stated that the Tianjin Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government attach great importance to the China Mining Conference and Exhibition and have listed it as a key exhibition of the city. The Tianjin Municipal Bureau of Planning and Natural Resources will refine its work in accordance with the preparatory plan, establish an on-site service and support command center, coordinate relevant municipal departments and commissions, and make comprehensive arrangements for security, transportation, medical services, food safety and other support work, so as to provide all-round services for the Conference.

Fan Li, Deputy Director-General of the Department of International Cooperation of the Ministry of Natural Resources, pointed out that the China Mining Conference and Exhibition has been successfully held for 27 sessions and has become an important exchange platform with broad influence in the international mining sector. This year's Conference will further enhance its level of internationalization, upgrade the Mining Ministers Forum, and invite major resource countries around the world to participate. The Conference will focus on practical cooperation in the field of geology and mineral resources and actively promote the achievement of more outcomes. He stated that the Ministry of Natural Resources will fully support all preparatory work and strive to make this Conference a high-quality and fruitful international mining event.

In his concluding remarks, Cheng Liwei, Secretary of the Party Committee and President of CMA, stated that the global mining industry is currently undergoing profound adjustments, and the Conference, as an important platform for promoting international mining exchanges and cooperation, shoulders an even more important mission. He pointed out that this year's Conference features five distinctive characteristics. First, its level of internationalization will be further enhanced, with senior representatives from mining authorities of many countries expected to attend. Second, the themes are closely aligned with the direction of industry development, focusing on frontier areas such as green and intelligent mining. Third, its transaction functions will be further improved, providing a more efficient service platform for the transfer of mineral rights and investment and financing cooperation. Fourth, the exhibition scale will reach a new level, with a concentrated display of new technologies, new equipment and new achievements in the mining sector. Fifth, the release of authoritative industry information will be further enriched, with a number of high-quality research results to be launched, providing useful reference for global mining development. He emphasized that preparations for the Conference have entered the final sprint stage, and the Organizing Committee will continue to advance all work in a solid manner and strive to present a distinctive, high-level, pragmatic and efficient mining event.

More than 40 member units of the Organizing Committee attended the meeting, including the Department of International Cooperation of the Ministry of Natural Resources, the Tianjin Municipal Bureau of Planning and Natural Resources, China Geological Survey, Chinese Academy of Natural Resources Economics, Tianjin Land Use Affairs Center, China National Coal Association, China Iron and Steel Association, Zijin Mining Group Co., Ltd., Aluminum Corporation of China Limited, China Minmetals Corporation, China National Gold Group Co., Ltd., China Uranium Industry Co., Ltd., China Railway 19th Bureau Group Co., Ltd., and China Railway Resources Group Co., Ltd.
